In 1997, on a hillside overlooking the Rutherford District of Napa Valley, Robert Lieff set out to realize a lifelong dream. Moving endless rocks from the steep eastern slopes the first two acres of Cabernet Sauvignon were planted in 1999. Another acre was planted in 2001 and then in 2008 another two acres were created of Cabernet and Petit Verdot.
Lieff Auberge Road Rutherford Vineyard produces a superb estate Cabernet Sauvignon and a Sauvignon Blanc. Located on rocky, volcanic soil on the steep eastern slopes above Auberge du Soleil, the five acre vineyard site is composed of flve small blocks, each of which has slightly dtfferent soil, exposure and geological elements. The vineyard, planted almost entirely in Cabenet with a small amount of Petit Verdot, is closely planted and hand farmed.
Together the Lieff Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc production is fewer than one-thousand cases.Shop Wines
